Do youth in Canada have a voice?
Related to country: Canada

Some of you may have already seen something about this project...Youth In Decision Making, where a group of young people are consulting and chatting with other youth and adults alike about the idea of a national youth council - a place for all Canadian young people to have a voice. We have a survey online at http://ydm.engagementsurvey.ca that will help start some dialogue between youth and adults in Canada about the creation of a National Youth Council in Canada - the survey helps figure out if this is something that youth want and can help shape what it might look like...It really takes less than ten minutes or so.

We are hoping to have a gathering of youth and adults from across Canada this summer to continue the discussion and look at the results of the completed surveys and plan for next steps. There is, if you want a place to leave your contact info so the youth can get connected w/ you for follow up as well.

Obviously it's important to have your voice heard - but also you can win an Ipod! We are doing random draws over the next six weeks and once you enter your name is in there ‘till end.

If folks email the link to folks (like friends, other youth who are involved in programs you’re involved with or adults – everyone from your parents to teachers or adults who work in organizations you are connected to) and/or post the link online wherever you think young people in Canada would see it – that would be so great - could you imagine people all over Canada talking about something like this?

That's my news for now...
